Mexico City, Madero Street
Alfonso's great-grandfather establishes the original Casa Petrides tobacco shop in the heart of Mexico City — a name that would carry four generations forward.
Arriving in McAllen
Father Alfonso Sr. relocates the family to McAllen, Texas, acquiring a beloved local shop called The Wooden Indian — beginning the Texas chapter of the Casa Petrides story.
The Name Revived at La Plaza Mall
The Casa Petrides name is reborn in McAllen's La Plaza Mall — where Alfonso Jr. begins working alongside his father while finishing high school and attending Pan American University.
Downtown McAllen
Expanding to downtown McAllen, the shop grows its character — adding tables, a larger humidor, and the seeds of what would become the welcoming lounge known today.
735 W Dove Ave — Home
Seizing the opportunity of a new shopping center, Alfonso opens the current location — eventually expanding to 50 beers on draft, a walk-in cooler, and a full lounge. This is where Casa Petrides became what it is today.
